Who We Are

Purnululu Aboriginal Independent Community School (PAICS) was established in 1991 to provide an educational service for the traditional owners of the Purnululu National Park and adjacent lands. Purnululu Aboriginal Corporation (PAC) is the governing body of the school. The total population of adult members represented by PAC is in excess of 400.

The history of PAICS is quite interesting. Originally, PAICS was located in Gawarre in the Purnululu National Park. A second campus was set up in Woorrenranginy Community (Frog Hollow). During the Wet Season, PAICS would operate out of the Woorrenranginy campus, and Gawarre in the Dry Season. The Gawarre campus no longer exists and PAICS now only operates out of the Woorrenranginy campus.
